The Lotus Dining Group
A couple of weeks ago, we packed up our bags and headed up to Sydney to meet our newest client, the Lotus Group! The Lotus Group is a sophisticated and well respected Asian restaurant group in Sydney, which runs Lotus Dining, Fujisaki, Madame Shanghai, and Bings and we are so thrilled to welcome them to our team! As we Melburnians seem to know little about the Sydney dining scene here is a run-down of what these diverse brands offer:
Lotus dining is made up of three restaurants; Lotus Dumpling Bar, Lotus the Galeries and Lotus Barangaroo. Each create a modern twist on authentic Chinese cuisine and celebrate the mix of Chinese and Australian culture.
Lotus Dumpling Bar:
Is an extension of Michael’s home, with Authentic Chinese flavours and a rustic charm, which reflects the history of the building, which used to be a warehouse for the Sydney Port Authority. The menu is as the name suggests, mainly dumplings with a selection of larger Chinese fare.
Lotus The Galeries:
Is a lifestyle and cultural destination for lovers of fashion, music and art, with a focus on Shanghainese cuisine and a distinct seafood orientation. The restaurant boasts 260 seats and 5 private rooms, with a cocktail lounge and dumpling bar, making it perfect for any occasion!
Pays homage to the traditional Aboriginal land it is located on, with a focus on local produce from the land and sea championing Asian dishes. It also features a wine list curated by sommelier Chris Entwistle with premium wines from across the globe.
Fujisaki is a modern Japanese bar and restaurant, with a menu that is led by the seasons. The restaurant features a raw bar, where Sushi master Ryuichi Yoshii puts on a show creating beautiful pieces of fresh sushi and sashimi. Guests can enjoy the harbour views from within the restaurant or can take advantage of the three beautifully designed private dining spaces.
Madame Shanghai is a nod to the smoky downtown streets of 19th century Shanghai with a mix of the traditional Shanghai and French flavours (reflective of the French merchants in Shanghai at the time). The restaurant is more grill-focused with a wide selection of meat cooked in Chinese Barbeque style. There is also a cocktail area overlooking Hyde Park which is reminiscent of a traditional Shanghai garden.
Bings is a traditional approach to poke and nourish bowls, with a strong influence of Asian ingredients and flavour. It is the most casual of the group with a focus on build-your-own and take-away capabilities and a relaxed, colourful design.
Each of these restaurants focus on authentic Asian flavours, with a modern twist and are certainly making their mark on the Sydney dining scene. We are so glad to welcome them to our team and can’t wait to bring them to another level.
