Melbourne Food and Wine Festival 2019

Over two-and-a-half weeks this March, indulge your taste buds and drink lavishly during the 2019 Melbourne Food and Wine Festival. Spread across Melbourne’s laneways, bars, rooftops, restaurants and streets, boasting outstanding produce and showcasing a variety of local and international chefs and winemakers, this foodie’s delight will be returning to Australia’s culinary capital between the 8th – 24th March 2019.

Not wanting to miss out but too busy to scramble across the whole city over the festival period? We’ve put together our top picks for you to make the most of this year’s festival. 

A Spirited Peninsula

Take part in an afternoon of whisky, rum, and gin tastings at The Spirited Peninsula event. Join Bass and Flinders Distillery along with several other top-shelf distilleries on Sunday 17th March with delicious tastings, tantalising food trucks and an all-round entertaining afternoon. You might even find your new go-to cocktail!

The Spirited Peninsula is being held on Sunday 17th March at 12:30pm and 3:30pm at JimmyRum Distillery in Dromana. Tickets are $58 and can be purchased here.



The House of Food and Wine

Eat and drink your way through an array of food trucks, learn from top local and international chefs as they demonstrate their dishes, and test your skills during a hands-on workshop. If an open-air feast, an unbeatable chicken and Hennessy combo or quiz nights are more your style, head to the Malthouse Theatre at night to explore the collaborative menus and put your taste buds to the test.

The House of Food and Wine is open noon-6pm between Friday 8th March to Monday 11th March at The Coopers Malthouse Theatre, Southbank. Tickets range between $65-$130 and can be purchased here.


 Regional World’s Longest Lunch

With 19 locations across regional Victoria, you’re spoilt for choice when it comes to deciding where to sit down for the World’s Longest Lunch! On Friday 15th March, sit back with a spread of some of the best produce and wine in some of the most picturesque locations Victoria has to offer to kick off the Regional Weekend. Whether beaches, valleys, or the countryside is more of your scene, there’s a meal and a spectacular afternoon waiting just for you!

River Graze

What better way to end a huge two weeks of culinary exploration than to sit by the Yarra sipping on a Victorian wine, indulging at the Food Truck Stop while listening to live music surrounded by family and friends.  

River Graze runs the length of the Yarra River from the Arts Centre to Crown Promenade Friday 22nd March 4pm – 9pm, Saturday 23rd March 12pm – 9pm, and Sunday 24th March 12pm – 8pm. Click here for more information.
